Welcome to University Physics 1
Welcome
Welcome
Physics is the study of the natural world. This study spans the microscope scale of atoms and electricity; the everyday scale of curving baseballs and sliding cars on icy roads; to the gigantic scale of orbiting bodies of galaxies.
This is the first course in a standard set of Physics courses. We will begin with Mechanics which will deal with motion, forces, energy and other quantities. This is a calculus based course which allows for the student to see the deeper fundamental basis of equations and how they are derived.
The understanding of these fundamental concepts provides a new view of the surprisingly simple and beautiful mechanics of the universe that surrounds us. It is my hope that this course opens up some of that beauty up to you as the student.
