Introduction

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to create an assignment for your canvas course. Each online assignment should advance students' achievement of one or more of your specific outcomes. You may be familiar with Bloom's Taxonomy, a well-known framework that organizes and classifies learning objectives based on the actions students take to demonstrate their learning. Online assignments have the added advantage of flexing students' digital skills, and Bloom's has been revamped for the digital age to incorporate technology-based tasks into its categories. For example, students might search for definitions online as they learn and remember course materials, tweet their understanding of a concept, mind map an analysis, or create a podcast. Step 1: Follow the directions below to create an assignment in Canvas starting from the Home Page:

Step 2: Click on Modules

Step 3: Go to Unit 1 and click on Assignment

Step 4: Click the Edit Button

Step 5: Now insert the title of your assignment with in the brackets and highlight

Step 6: After typing your title make it Heading 2

Step 7: Create an introduction to tell students briefly about the assignment and what they will do.

Introduction should be heading 2 as well

Step 8: Type the word Directions and make it Heading 2. Make your directions specific and concise.

Step 9: Type Due Dates and make Heading 2.

Be sure your due date is as shown below.

Step 10: Be sure to put the number of points the assignment is worth as well

as click the necessary items as shown in this screenshot.

Step 11: Always end with clicking Save.
