Unit 12: Overview

Introduction

Conservation of angular momentum is explored and simple harmonic motion is introduced.

Unit Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of the unit, the learner will be able to:

1. Utilize conservation of angular momentum to predict rotation due to collisions.
2. Use both conservation of angular and linear momentum to solve complex problems.
3. Synthesize concepts of mechanical energy and momentum in linear and rotation to analyze multiple aspects of real world problems.
4. Recognize Simple Harmonic Motion and describe it mathematically.
