Course Enrollment:   Students shall be enrolled only by appropriate Park University staff or faculty advisor in either a FA or SP semester; students are not permitted to self-enroll themselves.  HIS 453 is only offered, for Bachelor of Arts in History majors, in an accelerated 8-week term under exceptional circumstances and will have to be approved by Dr. Timothy Westcott, Senior Writing Capstone Coordinator, (tim.westcott@park.edu) based upon a detailed written justification (e.g., a justification due to U1A graduation is not an exceptional circumstance due to the fact that students would have had 32 credit hours prior to graduation to arrange an internship).  If students are enrolled in HIS 453 prior to completion of the required 90 credit hours, they will be disenrolled until meeting that credit hour requirement.

There are no face-to-face meetings for the Senior Writing Capstone.  The Senior Writing Capstone Coordinator recognizes a student may have work, family, or other obligations outside of Park University; however, the FA or SP semester format provides some flexibility to timely completion, which usually alleviates the need for the Senior Writing Capstone Coordinator to assign an “Incomplete” grade for the semester and jeopardize any financial aid being received by the student.
